Note: Econ 420 may only be taken after completion of the second year of Ph.D. studies

Assistanships:

  • M.A. students - 12 hours
  • Ph.D. students
    • 15 hours for new students or continuing students who have not passed the preliminary examination
    • 18 hours for students who have passed the preliminary examination only
    • 20 hours for students who have passed both the preliminary and field examinations

International Students:

  • SEVIS reportable events (report to International Student Office within ten days of occurrence:
    • change of name, address, or curriculum
    • change of visa classification
    • change of marital status
    • change of number of dependents
    • change of funding amount or source
    • failure to maintain status or complete a program
    • change of a dependent's legal name
    • change of U.S. address
    • graduation prior to SEVIS I-20 end date
    • disciplinary actions taken by the school
  • F-1 students may not enter U.S. more than 30 days prior to the start date on their I-20.
  • Curricular Practical Training (CPT):
    • required to graduate
    • must be documented by your advisor
  • Optional Practical Training (OPT):
    • must apply before completion of program (up to 90 days prior)
    • must have advisor's recommendation to take part in OPT
