Project 1: Ruth Dodge
You are Mrs. Washington Dodge (Ruth Vidaver), from San Francisco, California, who boarded the Titanic at Southampton with your husband Dr. Washington Dodge and your son Washington Dodge Jr.  Learn all you can about Ruth Dodge’s experiences in preparation for the Senate hearings.  You will find these resources useful:
 

 

Project 2: Dr. Washington Dodge
You are Dr. Washington Dodge, one of the surviving men from the Titanic. You boarded the Titanic at Southampton with your wife, Ruth Dodge, and your son Washington Dodge Jr.  Learn all you can about Dr. Washington Dodge’s experiences in preparation for the Senate hearings.  You will find these resources useful:
 

 

Project 3: A Reporter Discovers the Tragedy of the Third Class Passengers
You are a newspaper reporter for the New York Herald.  No one is reporting on the tragedy suffered by the 3rd class, or steerage, passengers.  While most of the first class passengers were saved, most of the poorer, third class passengers died.   Your job is to testify about how the third class passengers were ignored in this tragedy.  You are the only reporter who can tell this important story during the Senate hearings. Use these important resources:
 

 

Project 4: Stories from Third Class Passengers
You are one of the few third class passengers who survived.  You have been asked to report to the Senate Committee about your experiences on the Titanic.  Visit Encyclopedia Titanica and select one of the third class passengers.

(Select "Third Class Passengers" from the Passenger List  and look for the names of survivors.  These are in Italics.)

Learn as much as you can about one of these third class passengers.  Then, read about the tragedy of the third class passengers at The Unsung Heroes of the Titanic      Be prepared to tell the stories you discovered.
 
 
 

Project 5: The Unsinkable Molly Brown
You are Mrs James Joseph Brown (Margaret Tobin), sometimes called "The Unsinkable Molly Brown." Study your  history and be prepared to tell your story about what happened on the Titanic.  Use these resources

 
 
 

Project 6: A Newspaper Reporter Discovers Survivor Stories
You are a newspaper reporter for The Chicago Tribune who is in New York when the survivors return.  You interview as many as you can.  The Senate Committee wants to hear the stories you have learned.  Be prepared to tell the stories of at least two different survivors you have interviewed.  Use these resources:

 
 

Project 7: A Newspaper Reporter Discovers Stories from First Class Passengers
You are a newspaper reporter for The New York Post Dispatch.  You have been assigned to interview the first class passengers who survived as they arrive at the docks. You interview as many as you can.  The Senate Committee wants to hear the stories you have learned.  Be prepared to tell the stories of at least two first-class survivors you have interviewed.  Use these resources:
