These sites are very trendy, very Star Trek. Many people are beginning to suspect that this might be the future of publishing (and reading??). Some sites allow you to download these texts to disk to search without having to keep your internet connection going. This area is changing quickly, so if you aren't satisfied with these sites, just put "e-texts" or "e-books" into your favorite search engine.

• Bartleby.com has lots of e-books online.
• The English Server. Not only does this server have book-length works, but there are connections to other academic sites, calls for papers, cultural theory, cyber culture, and web design. Look under Books, Fiction, and Drama for some of the available works.
• Project Guttenberg
• UVA's Links to Works in Western European Literature. For those of you who like books in other languages.
• Open eBook Initiative. Read all about publishers' attempts to standardize the format of electronic texts.
