University Information Technology Services
Network and Server Operations (NetOps)
The department of Network and Server Operations,
University Information Technology Services, will manage and maintain a state-of-the-art, highly automated, professional
Network Operations and Server facility. The server environment will support high-availability, fault-tolerance,
and immediate repair requirements for critical production servers and peripheral devices including enterprise
tape and disk subsystems as well as production printer subsystems.
The group members and management will focus on continuous improvement of network and server device monitoring
by concentrating on core competencies, standard procedures, good operations management, more
automation of routine functions where applicable, and increasingly more sophisticated techniques and tools.
The group will become a true Network Operations Center (University ITS NetOp) by being proactive
in its monitoring responsibilities, in identifying network or server problems, and in either
resolving these problems or initiating escalation of problem calls to technical support or directly to hardware
and software vendors as required.
- NetOps
is staffed Monday through Friday, 24 hours per day.
- NetOps
