We are looking for dancers who are willing commit to practices once a week and are willing to learn with enthusiasm. Thus, it is not imperative that you have a classical Indian dance background. We are looking more for dedication to the team.
If you are interested in trying out for our competitive team, we hold tryouts the first week of September of every Fall semester.
All Surya Club practices are held from 9PM to 10:00PM at the Student Union in room 304B
Surya Team practices are held from 10:00 to 11:30PM in the Student Union in room 304B

*Membership is open to all undergraduate and graduate students at the University of Connecticut after having auditioned and after having been selected by the Executive Committee and advisors. Membership is granted independent of gender, race, color, religion, national origin, age, and sexual orientation.
*Members may be assessed dues as determined by the executive committee.
*A membership application and a $5.00 sign up fee is required by all applicants for record keeping purposes.
*
All members are allowed two absences from meetings/practices per semester, failing to comply may result in dismissal.
